Manage your Connected environment

As an administrator, you can manage a wide variety of elements in your Connected environment:

  • Company information. This information identifies basic information about your corporate Connected environment, such as its default group, Connected URL, user limit, and the list of features available to you. It also identifies which version of the Agent users can download for each supported operating system.

If you are a customer-level administrator, you can update basic company information and the Agent versions available for download. To add, remove, or configure features, contact your Partner Administrator.

  • Groups. A group is an organizational entity that contains users with common corporate characteristics and Connected requirements.

You can manage groups under your administrative control as well as view group membership and effective policies. If you are a customer-level administrator, you can also change the default group.

  • Users. Your environment supports several types of users, each with permission to perform different types of functions.

You can create users as well as update, delete, and change the status of users under your administrative control. You can also view a user's effective policies. If you are a data administrator, you can access user data.

  • Policies. A policy defines specific aspects of a how a feature functions for one or more groups of users.

Some feature behavior exists by default and applies to all groups. However, you can add, update, and delete custom policies at the corporate and group levels to configure features for specific groups.

  • Retention. A retention process determines which Connected files to keep and which to delete, based on policy.

You can create, update, and delete custom retention policies to define how many versions of files the process retains, and for how long.

  • Encryption keys. A customer-managed encryption key option lets customers maintain full control over the encryption keys that protect their company's data.

If this encryption key option is enabled for your company and you are a customer-level administrator, you can update the certificates and settings for this feature.
